City of Saginaw removing some traffic signals
After 90 days, the traffic signal will be removed and a stop sign will be added on Fraser and Vermont for traffic crossing Michigan.
SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) - Traffic signals are changing on some roads in the City of Saginaw.
As part of the city’s updated traffic regulations, traffic signals will be placed into flash mode for 90 days. The city said after the 90 days are completed, the signals will be removed and a new permanent stop control will be in place.
Changes are coming to the intersection of South Michigan Avenue and Fraser Street and the intersection of South Michigan Avenue and Vermont Street. The city said the lights on Fraser and Vermont will flash red for traffic crossing Michigan, and Michigan will flash yellow. After 90 days, the traffic signal will be removed and a stop sign will be added on Fraser and Vermont for traffic crossing Michigan.
Changes have already been made to another intersection. The city said the easternmost signal on Brockway Street and South Woodbridge Street were permanently removed.
The city is asking drivers to be patient while the work is completed.
