This year's BRIDl and BRIDI report feature several innovations in line with the evolving dynamics of the infrastructure sector.These include a more sophisticated index calculation framework and clearer insights, which more accurately capture the characteristics and trends of infrastructure investment and construction across various countries.

Specifically,two key innovations stand out:

(1)More statistics have been incorporated into the indicators,and the index model and calculation methods have been enhanced.

The inclusion of data regularly released by institutions such as Fitch Solutions and the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU)improves the index's responsiveness to changes in the development environment and costs,while maintaining consistency in results.

(2)Given the upcoming session of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC),a focal point of the year,this report provides a review and forecast of African infrastructure cooperation.

Drawing on developments since the 2018 FOCAC Beijing Summit,it analyzes trends in crucial areas and offers recommendations for governments,businesses,and financial institutions to further engage in and support high-quality,sustainable infrastructure development across Africa.
