Plans have been drawn up to secure bigger buses to provide transport services to people
The Zimbabwean government is exploring the introduction of trams in major cities to solve traffic congestion. Recently, Felix Mhona, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Development of Zimbabwe, said in response to questions from the National Assembly that trams will ease road congestion. The Ministry of Local Government and Public Works works with local governments to oversee urban transportation systems to provide efficient transportation. At present, plans have been made to ensure that larger buses are obtained to provide transportation services for people. At the same time, the long-term plan is to provide trams like small trains to provide transportation services for the people of Mabuwuku, Norton and Chitungwiza.
